On May 9, 2023, the Rajarata University playground hosted the inaugural first Rajarata University Staff Sports Day. Cricket, badminton, netball, track and field, and carrom events were among the several sports that were played. Participants in various sporting events included academic and non-academic staff from all the faculties and the main administrative building. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Mrs.) GAS Ginigaddara, came up with the idea for this occasion, which was planned by the university’s physical education department and sports council. The event’s goals were to increase worker connection across all faculties and provide them with a break from the pressures of the workplace.
