The Accountancy and Finance Student’s Association

The Accountancy and Finance Student’s Association or better known as ACFA is the student association of the department which aims to encourage interaction among students in the department and has made an effort to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students in the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The main aim of the association is to prepare students for careers in the accountancy and finance industry.  This is the hub of students’ activities and ACFA is dedicated to connecting students with professionals in the accountancy and finance industry by facilitating number of events throughout the academic years. All registered students who follow B.Sc. Honors in Accountancy and Finance Degree Program are members of the ACFA. The office bearers of ACFA are selected from among the 2nd year and 3rd year students of the Department on an annual basis.

  • Objectives of the AFCA:
  • Networking: ACFA aims to provide opportunities for undergraduates to connect with professionals in the accountancy and finance industry, potentially through guest speakers, networking events, or mentorship programs.
  • Career Development: ACFA focuses on helping our own undergraduates to build the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their future accounting and finance careers, through workshops, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Community Outreach: ACFA aims to give back to the community by organizing events or initiatives that support local organizations, charities & general society such as volunteer opportunities or fundraising campaigns.
  • Academic Support: ACFA provides academic resources and support to help undergraduates excel in their accounting and finance coursework, such as study groups, tutoring services, or review sessions.
  • Social Events: ACFA always tries to organize social events to help undergraduates connect with each other and build a sense of community, such as social mixers, sports leagues, or game nights.
  • Advocacy: ACFA could aim to represent the interests of accountancy and finance undergraduates at university, by advocating for policy changes or improvements to academic programs or resources.
